EXECUTIVE SEARCH CONSULTING

Search Process

Based on our initial talks with the key representatives from the client company and the line managers, we develop and refine a position specification which we feel aptly describes the basic responsibilities of the position, its title, compensation, reporting relationship, education and experience necessary to accomplish its stated objectives. At this time we feel that we have sufficient information on the client organization, its history, environment, problems, and personalities to position ourselves in a way that will enable us to properly assess candidates and present the company to prospective candidates in the proper manner.

Our approach to an assignment utilizes the true search method, with each search being conducted as a unique and specific project geared to the individuality of the position and the company. Since individuals with the desired qualities are usually not seeking a new position, they must be sought out and brought to management's attention. Our basic process is to methodically research and analyze those target companies and/or industries that we, in conjunction with the client company, have identified as being the most likely places to find our candidates. This part of the process is coordinated very closely with our research associates to insure that no appropriate company or individual is overlooked. Once these individuals are identified, it is our practice to approach them directly and ascertain both their qualifications and level of interest.

We are seeking individuals who not only meet the position specifications, but who have established repetitive patterns of accomplishment and success in positions which closely approximate the one that we are seeking to fill.

After we have conducted a number of preliminary telephone interviews and identified appropriate candidates for the position, a progress report will then be forwarded to the client which outlines the work which we have done on the assignment up to that particular time. This progress report will typically include the names and brief description of six to twelve people whom we have contacted, who appear to have the appropriate qualifications that we are seeking, and who have expressed interest in the position. The report is usually sent to the client within a three to four week period after the commencement of the search assignment. Those candidates, as well as others, who are deemed most appropriate are then thoroughly interviewed and assessed in order for us to obtain a realistic understanding of their backgrounds, accomplishments, abilities, and potential. We also assess the personal attributes of each candidate to determine the major strengths and limitations that an individual might bring to bear.

After the personal interviews and evaluations are complete, the appropriate background information will be forwarded to the client. All Interviews, both initial and subsequent, will then be coordinated by our organization. Also, as part of the final evaluation process, a complete and in-depth series of reference checks are conducted directly with individuals to whom the candidate directly reported throughout his or her career. We attempt to develop references that will be objective appraisals of the individual candidates. The final selection of the individual and offer of employment, including all details, will be coordinated by us at the discretion of the client. At your request, we will assist in all phases of the offer of employment including questions of relocation, bonus, etc.
